In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, our front line workers worked tirelessly while risking their health in order to keep others alive. Our hospital workers are true heroes, so our team decided to thank them by donating a brand new coffee machine to the Surrey Memorial Hospital. The COVID-19 pandemic also made it very difficult to visit loved ones in the hospital. The only way patients could connect with their loved ones is through Face Time over a screen. This may not be an issue for younger generations, but there are many seniors who do not own such devices. To solve this issue, Youth Rising decided to donate a brand new engraved iPad to the Surrey Memorial Hospital. This iPad is used exclusively by patients to communicate with their loved ones, so that even when they are not physically together, they can still feel the support of their family and friends.
